Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf coasts in August, 2005. Now. 20 years later, comes the story of one church who decided to help. Our church housed a large number of evacuees from south Louisiana. We had to provide virtually everything for people who had lost almost everything. We faced cultural, racial, and spiritual realities we had never had to face before. During the process, we learned all sorts of new things about our guests from the south, about ourselves, and about the Lord we all serve. As you read our story, my prayer is that you will grow in the same ways we were forced to grow all those years ago.
