The contents of my book is in simple language for general readers .The concise book is supported with flow diagrams as well as picture presentation. . The contents are suitable for patients, relatives with a new parathyroid problem. As well as medical students and trainees to do a quick revision.
Parathyroid glands are small endocrine glands located in the neck, typically situated behind the thyroid gland. Most individuals have four parathyroid glands, although the number can vary. They are responsible for the secretion of a hormone ( the parathyroid hormone, PTH) which is required for the regulation of calcium in the body.
I have covered benign parathyroid conditions as well as parathyroid cancer, clinical sign and symptoms, lot of illustrations and pictures are used to explain it . The subject is vast . I have made every possible effort to simply the contents and to make it user friendly.
My book is the part of Medical education series, the objective is to simply the medical content, to make it user friendly . This is especially helpful for a person with a new diagnosis of parathyroid condition and how it can impact their well being and health and quality of life.
