White Tree Frogs, the Pet Owners Manual: White Tree Frog Care, Feeding, Housing, Cost, Diet, Breedin

White tree frogs, also known as dumpy tree frogs (Litoria caerulea), are a species of tree frog native to Australia and New Guinea. With a robust, plump body and a distinctive calm demeanor, they have become popular pets worldwide. These amphibians are known for their large, expressive eyes, smooth skin, and varying coloration, which ranges from bright green to pale blue or white, often with a creamy or white belly. Their color can change depending on their environment, temperature, and humidity levels.

Litoria caerulea is a member of the Hylidae family and is found primarily in Australia's northern and eastern areas. These frogs may live in a wide range of settings, including tropical rainforests, woodlands, and cities. They are well-known for their remarkable capacity to thrive in both natural and man-made environments.

Adult white tree frogs typically measure between 7.5 to 10 centimeters (3 to 4 inches) in length, with females generally being larger than males. A unique feature of these frogs is their ability to tolerate variations in temperature and humidity, which is not common among many amphibian species. This adaptability, coupled with a voracious appetite for insects such as crickets, moths, and cockroaches, contributes to their resilience in various environments.
A White's tree frog is a fair choice for a beginning frog possession.
