Description

Inspired by Helen Fielding's "Bridget Jones's Diary", when given the chance to live a London life, Judy wrote it all down, minus the cigarettes and daily weigh-ins.

Judy, a flight attendant, and her engineer husband, had a thirst for wanderlust. They answered the door whenever opportunity knocked. When travel shows, amazing races and international house hunting became a reality, they packed up their three children and moved to London in June of 2012. The following two years they tried to fit their American suburban life into a small London house, that was the palest shade of pink.

What happens when the moving truck leaves? If English is the first language in both countries, why are situations continually lost in translation? Does putting a British accent on middle age make for smoother sailing? Can a child in first grade really understand what an Oligarch is?

The Pink Mews brings armchair travelers inside what happens when the dream of living abroad comes true. Judy shares in postings, essays, musings and travel tips what only your best friend would tell you, what the best guidebooks leave out, what being an expat, beyond a two week Holiday, is truly like.
