General Manuel Mondragon's efforts culminated on the design, manufacturing and deployment of a gas automated service rifle. The Mondragon rifle in the long run, influenced other firearms designers by loaning some of its pionering elements such as the use of an integral box magazine well, modular trigger assembly, double stack en-bloc clips, a gas operated reloading system, an integral bipod, high capacity removable magazines, and the use of high velocity small caliber cartridges. The manufacturing processes of the time limited the rifle's potential. A firearm that has captivated the attention of collectors and arms specialist around the globe. The intention of the book is to clarify the most common misconceptions and merging a Mexican historic narrative with other contemporary documents.
