"It Can't Be People": Voices from the Inner Circle

For over 40 years, spectacular, sometimes vast patterns have mysteriously appeared overnight in the wheat fields of the West of England, using sacred geometry, often in ancient historical sites, themselves also steeped in the unexplained.

Like the works of the graffiti activist "Banksy", these "Crop Circles" are presented with no explanation, unclaimed by the artists or creators. In the absence of authorship, many believe these intricate sculpted images to be the work of ETs, time-travellers, the Earth itself as a sentient being, or even secret military testing. Thousands of enthusiasts flock to the "hot spots" of Wessex and its surrounding areas every Summer to visit, experience, and attempt to decipher these wondrous formations... to many they are the symbols of religious, even mystical significance.

In a book a decade in the making, "It Can't Be People" focuses in depth upon a highly controversial "blind spot" which has seldom been seriously addressed in any of the hundreds of books and films examining the phenomenon, for fear that it is not fantastic enough... Human Beings. Everyday people who feel compelled to 'make' circles, and who are reporting incredible events associated with their creating - bizarre synchronicities, time anomalies, manipulations of reality, lights and orbs, presences, apparitions, ghostly figures, and visions.

Drawing on dozens of interviews with these anonymous and enigmatic individuals and teams, this fascinating book reveals that once humans are - at last - inserted into the picture, the mystery is far deeper and far more exciting than any narrative that excludes us.
