Yikes That Hurts!: The History of the N-Word

Yikes That Hurts, educates students about the history and impact of the n-word, a hurtful word that has been used to discriminate against Black people for centuries. Students will explore the origins of the word and how it has been used to oppress and dehumanize individuals based on their race. Students will also learn about the harm that the n-word can cause and the importance of avoiding its use. Through thoughtful discussion questions, students will have the opportunity to reflect on their own experiences with hurtful words and discuss ways that they can become advocates and contribute to creating a more inclusive and equitable world.
