God the Good Father: Hallowed be thy Name

"For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16 KJV) The bible says there is a Father who once loved the world so much that he gave His one and only begotten son for the redemption of the whole world. What was at the heart of this Father's purpose? And what if He hadn't sent His Son? Was He playing the long ball or did He end up with the "Raw deal?"
