Get Your Guidance On: A SEL Guidance Curriculum

This social-emotional learning guidance curriculum is designed to decrease student problem behaviors (especially crisis incidents) and increase student academic success. In using this guidance curriculum at my own school, my co-counselors and I noticed positive gains in both crisis prevention and academic achievement!! It utilizes multi-day guidance lessons for each month of the school year. In each month a different theme is covered, along with a mental health support strategy, a conflict resolution activity, and an academic success strategy. With this publication, you will receive: two 60 minute lesson plans per month, a recommendations guide for teaching social-emotional learning whole class lessons, alignment with the American School Counselor Association Mindsets & Behavior standards, a "Do You Have an Emergency?" posterette, a conflict resolution posterette, a counselor request form template, a brief evaluation questionnaire, an opening activity, various activities to apply the lesson information, and more! This resource also includes a yearly guidance curriculum pre/posttest as well as a needs assessment. This book is 95 pages and includes various leveled activities, making it appropriate for children in grades three through high school.
