Law-abiding citizens, unlike criminal offenders, rarely have occasion to research criminal law or legal history. The entertainment media, rumors, and myths supply a large portion of the content of the average person's knowledge. This book attempts to reveal the inaccuracies of some common clichés associated with our legal system by suggesting that readers complete the true or false quizzes. Ten specialized areas of legal study are represented in the Q&A chapters. While there is no substitute for the knowledge obtained by being dragged through the stages of a criminal prosecution as an offender, this book will hopefully help non-criminals develop a new appreciation for the complex principles of the justice system.
