Broken Bone: A Football Story

This is a football story. It reflects a journey culminating with the greatest comeback in Virginia Military Institute (VMI) football history. It was a unique time at a unique place to be playing Division One football. The odyssey we braved prepared us for futures filled with duty, responsibility, and purpose. Football is unique in the world of team sports for the distinct challenges it presents and the lessons it provides. The Team comes first. Discipline, toughness and perseverance are rewarded. Essential life lessons are learned. Though we were not always triumphant when the final whistle blew, on November 21st, 1992, our team was redeemed the cost of the sacrifice. This is our story.
