Big Stars for a little star

This book was written by an astronomy professor for his first grand-daughter.

It uses a simple poem to describe his work on hot, bright, Big Stars.

Such stars are so bright that their light pushes their surface layers away into stellar winds.

And their cores cook the complex elements needed for life.

So when they end their lives as giant supernova explosions:

"This spits complex atoms back out into space,

where with eons of add-ons they made your cute face.

Thus Big Stars helped you become what you are,

so are reborn anew, in you, little star."

The poem is enhanced by colorful, professional illustrations, augmented by images of actual astronomical objects made by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope.
