Men on the Sideline: Why African-American Males Are Not Suiting Up for Their Positions in the Church

Why African-American men are walking away from church- and how we can bring them back.

Why are so many African-American men missing from the church-and what can we do about it? In Men on the Sideline, author and researcher Dr. Edward David Gaston Jr. uncovers the cultural, historical, and spiritual barriers keeping Black men from suiting up for their God-given roles in the church. Blending personal testimony, biblical insight, and social analysis, this pow- erful book challenges churches to confront hard truths, restore trust, and reengage a generation of men longing for relevance, leadership, and authentic faith.
