Create an invention worthy enough to save the court from being zapped to dust. Buy the music hall before it is destroyed. When two dreams converge, will it be enough to ensure the Lightning Court survives another year?

Gifted with the power of lightning and Sight, Piora is determined to win the Undertaking so that she doesn't have to follow in her mother's footsteps, and become the minister of the Lightning Court. However, time is running out, and she has yet to design an invention worthy of the Gods.

Abandoned at a young age, Izyk, graced with no magic, has only ever had his music and the dream of one day buying the court's abandoned music hall-a dream that is threatened when the bank plans to demolish the historic building.

After an accidental meeting seems like fate, Piora and Izyk spark a deal: Izyk will help inspire new inventions for the Undertaking, while Piora promises to give half of the cash prize to Izyk so he can save the music hall. But when dark truths are revealed, Piora's devotion to the Gods is tested, and she must choose between diverging paths of destiny.

Of Lightning and Topaz is the third installment in the Weather Court Gem series. Each standalone novella follows a different couple in their respective court (Snow, Thunder, Lightning, Rain, & Sun), each faced with the challenge of following their heart as the fate of their court's power rests in their hands.
