Shaw, Mississippi native Ecir Nivek was the #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft out of Norfolk State University, an HBCU in Norfolk, Virginia. But, after five record-breaking seasons, a horrific injury plagued his career.
Ecir was miserably married with twin sons, My'Aire and My'Cere, and he was the eldest of five children. He was the son and grandson of Baptist pastors. He didn't realize how miserable he was in his marriage until he met what he described as the world's finest chocolate, Brittany Michelle Hicks. It was love at first sight. The pair had a lot in common; the chemistry between them was indescribable, and they were inseparable.
