He slid a business card across the desk. There was a printed seal and the words Department of State and Office of Intelligence Research. Underneath was his name, Mr. Daniel Morgan, and a phone number in Washington, D.C. I rotated the card to face me and carefully centered it on my desk in front of me.

"So what does the Bureau want with me?"

"We have a job for you." His voice had become clipped and tense again, all comfort dissipated.

"I have a full-time job here, Mr. Morgan,"

"Miss Stone, it would not be hyperbolic of me to say that this is a matter of national security."

What tempts a person to treason? At the top of Dot's list were money, sex, pride, and envy. Your basic deadly sins. Operation Paperclip is in full swing, and scientists from Nazi Germany are developing weapons for the US. But somebody is leaking project secrets to the Soviets. Dot Stone must go undercover to root out the spy, knowing that exposure would make her a target for deadly Soviet agents.
