LA Detective Darius Clayton is no stranger to solving crimes. His life has been dedicated to law enforcement ever since his brother was murdered when they were kids. When his boss, Greg McClarksen, brings him Case316, he mentions there's something odd about it that Clayton will want to investigate. Clayton soon discovers this is no ordinary homicide-synthetic humans may be involved. Clayton despises synthetics and relishes the chance to prove that they can violate the human-endangerment protocol.
