Painting power poles is a 20-year tradition on Pine Island. It is an ongoing voluntary community effort to put a little color on Pine Island.
In April 2024, the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce began rallying local artists again to take a break from day-to-day activities and put fresh paint on our poles. As hurricanes blew through, the community spirit strengthened prompting a terrific response. They are proud that they have over 120 new poles that have been completed to date.
Painted by local artists, ranging in age and skill level, from professionals to children embracing the community spirit, our poles depict what this island is all about: Birds, Trees, Fish, Flowers,
Fruits just to name a few.
This book depicts the completed works. Explore the beautiful artwork on this unique "canvas".
