"There are deeper magics in the World than carpets that fly."
Long ago in a time of great wonder (as many grand stories tend to be set), the dark-eyed Atash has the greatest adventure of his boyhood one Tuesday afternoon as he makes way to the marketplace by the Old City Gate to buy a bowl of lentils for his grandmother -first finding a magic carpet and then finding himself far from home. Now as for the fiendish Groundwitch, or Naan the Eight-Fingered Dreamreader, or even just a good cup of Kokab's Finest Strongwater-well, those are all other stories, other stories for other days-or at least other parts of this one that you might stumble upon as you follow the thread of Atash's journey through the pages of this new and ancient tale.
