Strength. Patience. Grit. Growth.

Seven-year-old Salem thinks she knows everything-until the morning her toast pops up burnt and her whole "I've-got-this" world wobbles. Suddenly, eggs won't crack right, her dirt bike wobbles, and nothing feels as easy as it used to.

Enter her two secret weapons: Grandma TruTru and Great Grandma Marsha.

With gentle wisdom and big love, they show her five simple steps-watch, listen, ask, practice, and try again-that turn everyday mistakes into powerful learning moments.

With every careful crack of an egg, every deep breath, every WHOOSH of a wobbly bike ride, Salem discovers a truth bigger than burnt toast:

She doesn't need to be perfect.

She just needs to be coachable.

And once she learns that?

There's nothing she can't figure out.

Okay, I'll Try is a warm, beautifully illustrated picture book that blends early leadership lessons, growth mindset, and everyday SEL skills into a story every child can see themselves in.

In this expanded second edition, storytime becomes a "read it, talk about it, try it" experience-with activity pages, Coach's Corner guidance, interactive SEL activities kids love, leadership challenges, conversation starters for parents and teachers, kid-approved recipes, and a Certificate of Completion that celebrates growth.

Kids learn persistence, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and confidence-building-wrapped inside a fun, relatable story inspired by real moments between two grandmas and their

granddaughter.
