Lantern That Remembered: Book One of the Lightkeeper Collection

Sometimes the smallest light tells the truest stories.

When Annie arrives at her grandmother's Baltimore row house, she expects an ordinary visit. Instead, she discovers a hidden lantern that begins to glow -- revealing family stories shaped by courage, love, and moments from American history quietly carried through her family's past.

As the lantern shimmers to life, Annie is drawn into memories of ordinary people who lived with bravery and perseverance. The light does not entertain or instruct -- it reveals. Through what she sees, Annie begins to understand that the past is never truly gone. It lives within the homes, families, and choices that shape the present.

In a world that often rushes childhood forward, The Lantern That Remembered offers something rare: a sense of belonging. Through imagination and discovery, Annie learns that history is not only something found in books -- it is carried in the stories families remember and share.

Perfect for read-alouds and thoughtful young readers, this heartwarming story invites children to notice goodness, value memory, and recognize the quiet lights that guide us forward.

The Lantern That Remembered opens The Lightkeeper Collection -- a historical fiction series celebrating courage, truth, imagination, and the enduring light of stories that help us remember who we are.
