Project Based Learning (PBL): Project Log Book

The Project Based Learning (PBL) Log Book is a comprehensive document designed to facilitate systematic planning, execution, monitoring, and assessment of student projects. It serves as an essential record of the project's lifecycle, enabling continuous tracking of student progress, learning outcomes, and skill development throughout the project duration. The log book provides a structured framework for documenting weekly and monthly project plans, activities performed, milestones achieved, challenges encountered, corrective actions taken, and reflections on learning. It incorporates provisions for periodic project evaluations through Review-I to Review-IV, ensuring effective monitoring and timely feedback from project guides and review committees. To promote self-learning and lifelong learning skills, the log book includes dedicated sections for documenting concepts, technologies, tools, software, standards, and knowledge acquired beyond the prescribed curriculum during project implementation. It also encourages students to maintain records of literature surveys, technical discussions, industry interactions, workshops, certifications, and research activities relevant to their projects. The log book contains standardized assessment rubrics for evaluating project planning, technical competency, innovation, teamwork, communication skills, documentation quality, and project outcomes. Detailed guidelines for project report preparation are provided, including formatting specifications such as page layout, font style and size, margins, heading hierarchy, citation and referencing style, figure and table formatting, and plagiarism compliance requirements. In addition, the log book serves as a repository of project-related information such as project synopsis, team details, guide remarks, review observations, industry sponsorship details, internship and industry collaboration records, intellectual property outcomes, publications, participation in competitions, placement information, and career progression of students.
